7 (4 males, 3 females) people were killed and 17(11 males, 6 females) left critically injured in a crash that occurred today January 4th at the Police Area Command junction on Shagamu-Ijebu ode expressway. According to FRSC, two vehicles, a Toyota Haice and a Mazda bus were involved.

The driver of one of the buses lost control as the vehicle crossed to the other side of the carriage way and collided with an oncoming bus. The victims were taken to the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Shagamu.

The conjoined twins were born in Tondo of Miya in Ganjuwa Local Government Area of Bauchi State, over the weekend. According to Aminu Bombiyo who shared the photos, the twins were delivered at home before being brought to ATBU Teaching Hospital Bauchi. Their mother, a poor Fulani nomad named Adama Sani is seeking for assistance from well meaning Nigerians. See more photos after the cut...

The Guardian: Hezbollah says it carried out roadside bomb attack on Israeli military

Lebanese group targets armoured patrol in disputed Shebaa farms area after days of Israeli artillery fire into southern Lebanon

Hezbollah has claimed responsibility for a roadside bomb targeting two Israeli military vehicles on Israel's northern border, raising tensions that were already high after the assassination of a prominent militant in December.

The attack by the Lebanese group on Monday followed days of Israeli artillery fire into southern Lebanon, which resumed after the bomb attack with 20 shells reportedly fired into Lebanon after the incident.

The explosion occurred at about 3.15pm local time near the occupied Shebaa farms, with Israeli retaliatory fire hitting the vicinity of the Lebanese village of al-Wazzani.

Country singer Craig Strickland found dead a week after he went missing

The search for Craig Strickland ended today after the Backroad Anthemlead singer was found dead at age 29.
A spokesperson for Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Lt. Kera Philippi sent out a press release Monday to confirm that his body has been recovered and the family has been notified.

Strickland was declared missing Monday afternoon after his friend, Chase Morland, was found dead in Kaw Lake, OK, within the original search area known as Bear Creek Cove," the release added.

The two friends had embarked on a duck hunting trip during a storm on Sunday, December 27, 2015, at Kaw Lake in Kay County, Oklahoma.

The family of the singer, 29, has been notified, Philippi wrote and added that more information "will be released when a full update is provided."

Morland tweeted just before going out with his friend, writing,

"In case we don't come back, @BackroadCRAIG and I are going right through Winter Storm Goliath to kill ducks in Oklahoma. #IntoTheStorm."

A search was launched yesterday when a boat the two men were reportedly using for the hunting trip north of Tulsa, in Kay County, was found capsized in the early hours of Monday, according to Oklahoma's News9.

His wife had been praying for hours survival when their dog was found alive.

Accident Claims Seven Lives, Injures 17 In Ogun

An accident at the Sagamu/Iperu-Remo junction in Ogun State has claimed seven lives and left 17 others critically injured.

The accident, which involved two vehicles, happened along the Lagos/Ore-Benin expressway on Monday.

A Toyota bus with registration number ‘Lagos BDG 789 XJ’ reportedly crashed into another Mazda passenger bus marked ‘ONDO REE 248 XA’ near the Sagamu Police Area Commander’s Office at around 2:50PM.

It was gathered that the passenger-filled Toyota bus was suspected to be conveying passengers, who were returning to Lagos from their holiday in Nigeria’s eastern region.

The driver of the ill-fated bus was said to have lost control of the bus, apparently as a result of over-speeding and veered off its lane and crossed the road divider before crashing into the Mazda bus travelling outside the Sagamu township.

Confirming the incident, the Ogun State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Adegoke Adetunji, said that a total number of 28 persons were involved in the auto crash which claimed the lives of seven persons.

Mr Adetunji disclosed that those that were rescued alive have been taken to the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital for medical attention.

He added that the corpses of the deceased have also been deposited at the morgue of the same hospital in Sagamu.
