Amy Larman, 18, from Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, said she was sacked by her boss Adam Groves when she sent a message to him saying she would have to miss her shift after learning her baby's heart had died at 15 weeks. She says her boss replied saying he needed his staff to be reliable and told her he was letting her go from The Hollybush pub where she had worked for three months. Devastated Miss Larman, said she had held down the job for three months after taking on the role to earn money for her baby.

'I told him the situation and he had no absolutely no sympathy. He said he had to let me go because he could not have staff on the payroll who let him down. He knew I was pregnant - that's why he put me on part-time hours. You don't treat your staff like that. I think it's awful that I have had to go through this and when I'm down I get kicked"

A Jos-based man who lost his sister when his car fell from a bridge on Jan, 19 , has just shared his survival story on Facebook!

"Alhamdulillahi, all praise be to Allah, the beneficent most merciful. I wish to thank each and every one of you for your prayers, love, and support in my moment of grief, over the death of my elder sister Hajiya Rakiya Babanmairam and the accident that almost claimed my life on the 19th January 2016. I thank you all for your visits and phone calls."

Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State says the strength of any true democracy lies in the existence of a viable opposition.

He has therefore vowed that he would not defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) unless the party ceases to exist.

Governor Fayose made the remarks when he visited his Osun State counterpart Governor Rauf Aregbesola at the government house in Osogbo, the state capital.

It was the first time the Ekiti State Governor would pay a visit to his Osun State counterpart, Rauf Aregbesola.

Being his first official visit to an APC governor, Governor Fayose came with an impressive entourage as he exchanged pleasantries with all.

Speaking on politics, Fayose said that the absence of opposition in any democracy would lead to dictatorship and gave the assurance that he would not defect from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party.

Although Aregbesola shared the views expressed by the Ekiti Governor, he expressed his desire to see him purse his political ideology in a progressive party instead of the PDP.

Fayose maintained that he was on the visit particularly because of his concern for the unity of the Yoruba race, an issue Governor Aregbesola agreed needed attention.

Both governors then went further to exchange ideas on how to ensure that Yoruba people remain united irrespective of political differences.

As Governor Fayose prepared to leave, he told journalists that the story of his son’s arrest in Dubai was untrue.

After my child carried 12^th in class for the 3^rd time despite all my efforts I was convinced thatthe children scoring better than him have two heads instead of 1. But to my surprise when I eventually was able to turn the table around and get my boy to top 3 in class I didn't have to make him "grow another head" …I simply found the key to unlocking the genius in my child and it was much simpler than you would expect….

My child started reading as early as age 4, by age 6 he could pronounce, spell and write down words that were quite complicated. I used to watch him interact with his friends and I would be so proud of my boy. But when his results came out for his 1^st term in primary 1 he was 10^th position. The next term he was 12^th. I was literally enraged at the result, the next term I reduced his tv time and his nap time to create more space for doing assignments and classwork. I would call his class teacher 2 times a week to ask about his performance in class and I even made it a prayer point at our house fellowship because I wanted to be that proud mum whose child was the best in class.

NO SHOW!!!

My son came 12^th in class again. It was at this point that I thought it was beyond human comprehension how a naturally brilliant child who could speak, read and write better than most of his peers and was reading 4 hours a day (after school classes on a daily basis) was taking 12^th in class. I met with the school's guidance counsellor concerning the issue and it was she who suggested that I should probably get my child a personal tutor to attend to him on a 1- 1 basis. This was the secret I discovered; 1 – on – 1 tutoring is highly effective in supporting classroom lessons and in strengthening a child in areas of weakness that may be hidden.

I got a Prepclass tutor and the results were incredible. From 12^thposition my son moved to 3^rd in class. The tutor explained that my son was brilliant as I had always thought but his scores were bad because:

He made frequent careless mistakes during tests and exams.

He lacked confidence so sometimes he would not attempt a question he knew because he wasn't sure and in class he would not ask questions when things were unclear.

He didn't know how to work well with time and

He answered questions during exams the same way he would answer if it were a mere class activity so he was scoring lower marks in the exams than he should.

The next term my son was first position thanks to the effort of the brilliant tutor we got from Prepclass tutor. After the Spanish Football Federation's appeals committee rejected the appeal, the Club will take matters up with the Disciplinary Committee for Sports

FC Barcelona will file an appeal to the Spanish government's Disciplinary Committee for Sports (TAD) over the two-match ban handed to Luis Suárez in the aftermath of the Copa del Rey Round of 16 first-leg against RCD Espanyol.

The Club will take the matter to TAD after seeing the initial appeal rejected by the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).

In the appeal, the Club reiterates that the player, by his own confession, did not say the offensive words which were attributed to him after the game. The two-match ban would affect the next two Copa del Rey matches, the first of which comes this Wednesday against Espanyol and, should Barça progress, the Uruguayan would miss the first-leg of the quarter-final.

Court orders Tompolo's arrest

An official order from the Federal High Court in Abuja has been issued for the arrest of former Niger Delta militant, Government Epemupolo also known as Tompolo who is being investigated by the EFCC for allegedly fraudulently selling a land for N13 billion to the last administration for the construction of a Nigerian Maritime University (NMU).

Tompolo was in December last year invited by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for questioning but refused to honor their invitation claiming he was in court against the anti-graft agency.

The bank accounts of his companies, Mieka Divers Ltd and Global West Vessel Specialists Nigeria Ltd, used for the payment of the N13 billion has been frozen by the EFCC.

Tompolo has insisted that the land sale was transparently done and that any question for clarification should be directed to former President Goodluck Jonathan.
